Boat Launching Clinics

Love getting out on the water but not feeling confident with reversing your trailer down the ramp?
If busy Saturdays, long queues, and plenty of onlookers make trailer reversing stressful, you’re not alone.
Join us at our free boat launching clinics running across Victoria. Led by experienced instructors, these sessions cater to both beginners and more advanced boaters, helping everyone build the skills and confidence needed to reverse safely and smoothly.
The classes will include:
- An informative overview of launching and retrieving a boat
- Hands-on practice reversing a boat trailer
- A detailed demonstration of how to launch a boat
The sessions will go for 45 minutes and will include female only sessions and all gender sessions at different times throughout the day. This ensures everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Extra events led by the Women in Recreational Fishing and Boating Network will also occur in Queenscliff and Mornington. These events are women only and will include the opportunity to undertake the Marine Licence course and to learn more about boat handling.

WIRFAB leaders will be present at select sessions, offering tips, encouragement, and support throughout the day.
